Den/Outpost Dungeons Too Big?

Problem you’re trying to solve
There is too much running involved in the new massive dungeons. Dens and Outposts are now massive in size. Often times you have to run back through huge pathways of mobs you just cleared and it is boring to be running so much, it breaks up the action and the fun of the dungeon. Another problem is because they take so long, it removes the casual feel of the game, login run a few dungeons log out. Now one dungeon in wastelands could be 40+ minutes clearing everything. Also if you want to join a group that’s in a dungeon, waiting 40+ minutes for them to finish can be a killer. Doing these massive dungeons with random players is also a nightmare.

How you currently feel about this in-game and how you think you should feel
I think dungeon sizes should be capped to medium sizes to reduce the amount of running and keep the pace of action up so people don’t get bored.

Any ideas you have on how things could be improved, fixed, or add more fun to the experience
My guess is the dungeons sizes were increased to be sure there were enough mobs for the Soul Drains and the Data Points missions. Solution would be to decrease the max size of the dungeons so the biggest one is maybe half what the current biggest one is, and then make it so soul drain or data points can only be the first mission and they can not be given one after another. Also could decrease data points required by 20% if needed.

New Solution

Could make most of them small to medium size (like they were in Jade), and then for the large ones have a unique name so people know what they are getting into before they join it. For example call them “Large Binosaur Den”, just tag the word “Large” on the front for the ones that are of massive size for players that like this format of having a ton of mobs. There are times these can be great if everyone has lots of time.

Way too large imo, especially with a Timewarrior

agree on this one, it feels like we are doing raids or something like that with how big the dungeons have gotten

The problem is the double quests.

About the quests.:

  • Fauna kill quest is very boring. You have to run for 1-2 minutes in a place where there is no monsters.
  • The soul gathering (or harvest?) quest is absurd and ill-conceived. Mobs are slow, or they get stuck, or they don’t come, or there aren’t enough of them.

My guys are tired af. Can the devs do something?

Agree, data points objective need to be reduced to certain number based on the players levels or maybe 20 percent of the current target.

quests also need to be fixed

This is not how to give feedback. Not to mention, this is entirely the point of development phases, like Pre-Alpha, the one we’re in. Put out mechanics, see how they play out, balance them.

Also, these have already been rebalanced for the upcoming hotfix. Again, we’ll have to see how they play out and tune as needed.

Please be constructive with your feedback in the future.

In my opinion, the new balance patch has made this issue more important to address, especially with the angry mobs quest preventing people from running past mobs to get to the boss room.

Quite right, there are very long dungeons with objectives that are too far apart.
We have the example of the corrupted portals, yesterday we abandoned this type of dungeon twice because they are huge maps and the objectives are too far apart. To that we add that we were a low level group and they insisted on doing it (the dungeons should have a level restriction to avoid this).

As you say, the data and soul missions should always appear at the beginning, sometimes it is impossible to complete if it appears as a secondary mission.
